Today, a group of full-time Master’s degree students of International Monetary and Financial Relations conducted CSTO model within the frames of “International Organizations” course, lectured by Alberd Hayrapetyan, Assistant Professor of the Chair of International Economic Relations, PhD in Economics. The topic is the election of the new CSTO Secretary General (instead of Armenia's representative Yuri Khachaturov - dismissed from the position). Each of the Master's students represented CSTO member 6 countries (Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Russia, Tajikistan) and the Armenia is represented by the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan.

Albert Hayrapetyan noted that Master’s degree students have responded to this urgent problem with love and within the frames of the course they have been presented the institutional structure of the organization, possible directions for the latter’s improvement. The processes taken place in the CSTO, in particular the negotiations on the election of the Secretary General were especially highlighted. The measure was attended by Lusine Aghajanyan, Associate Professor of the Chair of International Economic Relations, PhD in Economics.

At the end Albert Hayrapetyan expressed satisfaction with the negotiation process, noting; “It was wonderful, the impression was that we were dealing not with students, but with state leaders and professional politicians. Nevertheless, as it was expected, the leaders of the states were unable to reach a consensus. However, it is gratifying that they have reached another consensus. Vachagan Asatryan was recognized as the best participant of the CSTO model by unanimous vote of the Master’s degree students”.
