"Prospects of the Eurasian economic integration: a view from Armenia" International scientific-practical seminar in ASUE

This morning ASUE hosted the International Scientific-practical seminar entitled "Prospects of the Eurasian economic integration: a view from Armenia", initiated jointly with the Institute of the CIS countries of the Russian Federation (Moscow) and ASUE.

The seminar was organized in the center of international programs and was attended by ASEU Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and External Relations Gagik Vardanyan, the director of "Amberd” Research Center Samvel Avetisyan, dean of the department of Regulation of Economy and International Economic Relations Atom Margaryan, head of the International
Economic Relations chair Grigor Nazaryan, representatives of the same chair, representatives of the Institute of CIS of
the Russian Federation, the Eurasian Economic Commission, state structures of Armenia, business and research community, students and graduate students of ASUE.

Vice Rector Gagik Vardanyan came up with an opening speech. He noted that in the first place it was a great honor to organize the discussion in ASUE in such a format, later touching the topic of the day and highlighting its’ importance, Vice-Rector expressed a hope that the seminar would take place in an atmosphere of healthy debates. Afterward the Head of Economics Department of the Institute of CIS of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Economics, Professor Aza Mihranyan also welcomed the participants.

Scientific-practical seminar passes in two parts as planned. In the first part, entitled "The integration directions within the EAEU", the deputy director of the Institute of Economics of RAS, doctor of Economics professor Svetlana Glinkina reported on "The experience of the European integration of the Central and Eastern Europe countries". Further Sergei Shukhno Deputy Director of the Department of integration development of Eurasian Economic Commission reported on "EAEU: Armenia's membership and the prospects of integration development”.   Head of the ASUE chair of Mathematical methods in economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Ashot Tavadyan spoke on "Coordination of anti-crisis measures in the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union”.

The second part of the seminar was entitled "The Economic Situation in Armenia and Russia:  the challenges and prospects of Eurasian economic union”."Armenia's integration problems with EAEU: risks, development potential” report was read by Karine Minasyan a Board Member (Minister) on customs cooperation of the Eurasian Economic Commission. This report was followed by the speech of doctor of economics, associate professor of ASUE International economic relations chair Diana Galoyan on "The competitiveness of RA economy and the European project". Aza Mihranyan continued the second part of the seminar with a report on "The negative trends in the Russian economy and its effects on the EAEU member states”. The seminar concluded Arsen Petrosyan.


Summarizing the results Atom Margaryan thanked the participants, partners, and expressed a hope that the cooperation would be continued.
