ANSA IS 11 YEARS OLD
Today, Armenian National Students’ Association (ANSA) celebrates its 11th anniversary.
Armenian National Students’ Association was officially founded in September 9th, 2003, when the heads of 9 HEIs’ student unions united and signed an agreement to establish a national student union.
In the interview with ASUE Media and Public Relations Division Sargis Asatryants, Vice President of ANSA, mentioned that in 2001 4 HEI student unions, i.e. the Student Council of Yerevan State Economic University /now ASUE/, the Student Parliament of Yerevan State Medical University, the Student Council of French University in Armenia, the Student Council of State Engineering University united into the Inter institutional Coordinating Council (ICC), which later was logically followed by the foundation of ANSA. Since 2012 ANSA is a full member of European Student Union.
“ANSA is guided by the following principles: democracy, equality, autonomy, transparency, unity and cooperation. The Armenian National Students’ Association (ANSA) – is the organization of 17 local student unions from all over Armenia. We have gained a number of achievements: we concentrated on assurance and improvement of students’ entertainment, cultural life, protection of students’ rights of state and non-state Universities /Master’s Degree, PhD (with extension right of military service)/ and etc.
Many members of our Association are experts, they develop and carry out a number of projects. One of the most important problems for us is to find ways to solve students’ social problems. We are seeking to that the student is considered to be an University partner, his/her voice and opinion are listened to”; said the Vice President.
ASUE Administration headed by ASUE Rector Koryun Atoyan, congratulates ANSA and wishes fruitful activities.
