TUMANYAN’S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY AND BOOK DONATION DAY AT ASUE (photos)
Today, February 19, is Hovhannes Tumanyan’s 145th birth anniversary. Cultural measure devoted to his anniversary and book donation day was organized at Scientific Reading Hall of ASUE Library initiative by the University Library management and supported by Mary Zakaryan, the Head of the Chair of Armenian and Russian Languages, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor.
Note, it’s already 6 years that Writers’ Union of Armenia celebrates Tumanyan’s birthday as a Book Donation Day supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Municipality. Students, lecturers, ASUE members, employees participated in the measure. Armine Hovhannisyan, the Director of the University Library, acclaimed the start of the measure and mentioned that the measure was aimed to highlight the birth anniversary of the great poet and the beautiful sacrament of the day to donate a book.
Mary Zakaryan, Professor, presented Hovhannes Tumanyan’s biography, activity, his great contribution to art and literature.
The students mentioned that they highlight the role of book, literature in their life.
