PRESENTATION OF RESEARCH CONDUCTED BY ASUE STUDENTS OF MASTER’S DEGREE (photos)
Presentation of research entitled “Study of Activity at Leading Foreign Universities “think tanks” and the Best Investment Opportunities in the RA” conducted by our University young researchers was held today at ASUE “AMBERD” Research Center.
Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Rector, Professor, Gagik Vardanyan, the Vice-Rector of Science and International Relations, Samvel Avetisyan, the Director of “AMBERD” Research Center, the staff of the Center participated in the presentation.
Samvel Avetisyan mentioned that this was the overview of the research conducted by Masters’ 1st research group, 6 students of Master’s Degree were included in the group, who worked with Vardan Atoyan, the Director of “National Security Research” program at “AMBERD” Research Center, Candidate in Economics.
Stella Hovsepyan, the 2nd year student of Master’s Degree at the Department of Regulation of Economy
and International Economic Rеlations, presented by slide show the research results: the main characteristic features of international “think tanks”, their activities, mission, goals, thematic research directions, forecasting methodology, financing, publications, staff structures.
Armenian University research centers were also discussed at the end. In the result of the research the students made suggestions: to invest the experience of leading foreign universities in Armenian University “think tanks”, including ASUE “AMBERD” Research Center.
At the end of the presentation discussion was held.
Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Rector, asked the students a number of questions, made corrections at the end: how the 1st research affected the students, in the response to which the latters said that first of all it was a great experience for them, and then it’s also orientation: some of the students planned to continue their career in research field. “Universities can’t develop without research, development of this direction, this is the right way”; said the Head of the University and expressed hope that the practice of this research would be catching, and gradually a great number of students would be admitted in research of the Center. At the end of the measure the Rector awarded students with participation certificates.
We asked Vardan Atoyan, the Director of the research group, “National Security Research” program at “AMBERD” Research Center, Candidate in Economics, to evaluate the conducted work in the context of including students in research work. In the response the Director mentioned: “Including students in “AMBERD” Research Center derived from the strategy of the Center. Now we can say that the first effective steps in this direction have been carried out and gradually we get used to the institutional nature. We planned to continue the work toward this direction, gradually increasing the frame of students included in research activity”.
At the end of the presentation Vardan Aytoyan donated the students his authored book.
