The meeting of Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Rector, Doctor of Economics, Professor, with the students took place today in the Big Hall of Armenian State University of Economics. The meeting was spent in a direct and free atmosphere, the students thanked the Rector for making the meetings with students traditional, gave their questions, some issues were discussed. At the same time they underlined that they saw the positive changes and thanked the Rector of that.
"I have decided to have this meeting to listen to your questions, so I want to have free conversation and discussion" said Koryun Atoyan in his speech directed to the students and expressed willingness to listen to their problems and suggestions. The students' questions were various: they were interested in the problems concerning to effective organization of education process, relations of student-lecturer, student-library, organization of examination process, absences. The Rector spoke about all these issues, trying to answer all of them.
Giving importance to the use of modern methods in education process, creation of interactive auditoriums equipped with modern techniques, Koryun Atoyan mentioned that he had given an instruction to study the problem and present, how many interactive auditoriums can be created. The Rector said that you should find the ways and methods, which would make the students required specialists in this rapidly changing world.
The Rector distinguished TEMPUS International project. The Head of the University reminded that in the framework of TEMPUS ASUE had won three projects, and became a coordinator of one of these ("Ararat") projects.
"We should understand which is right or wrong in the relation of student-lecturer", said the Rector, promising to discuss all suggestions copncerning to this issue. Reffering to specialties and specializations of ASUE Bachelor and Master programs, Koryun Atoyan mentioned that the specialties of Bachelor degree should be clarified and the students should get a narrow specialization in Master degree. The Head of the University answered to the students' questions frankly.
"People are different and we should adapt to each other, to keep coexistence rules and try to solve the problems together. We should create the World which is our. We need to come together to raise the quality of education, to make it more competitive: putting our cooperation on a polite bases, as we are able to solve the problems only with joint efforts. Present suggestions concerning to all issues, discuss, as we do everythimg for you, you are the client", Mentioned Koryun Atoyan.
The students thanked the Rector for warm, frank and free dialogue, simple human contact at the end.
