HERITAG: New Ways of Effective Management of Tourism

Today, review meeting of “HERITAG” project was held  at ASUE Conference  Hall, which was attended by Paruir Kalantaryan, Vice Rector  of Educational-methodological Matters, Nerses Gevorgyan, Head of Quality Assurance Division, Varazdat Hovhannisyan, Director of Quality Assurance Center of National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, Nelli Shahnazaryan, Head of the Chair of Tourism and Crisis Management, professors, employees and students.

Conducting brief summary to the  start, duration of the project and the gained achievements, Nerses Gevorgyan  mentioned; “The project aims to develop an interdisciplinary reform in higher education programmes at master level and continuing education integrating Geo-information Technologies (GIT) applied to cultural heritage documentation, tourism management and entrepreneurship”. Exchanging  of  experience with European partners, trainings of University professors, carrying out sectoral research works prepare the ground for fulfilling the project objectives”.

Varazdat Hovhannisyan drew  attention on the role and application opportunities of Geo-information Technologies (GIT), stating that they are  very important in our everyday life  and, moreover, the documentation of cultural heritage  has a great importance towards tourism management  and developing entrepreneurship. He  highlighted the  establishment of GIT laboratory and creating Master’s specialization using those technologies.  Then seminar-discussion was  held, during which the  trained  professors presented interesting details on visits to Universities in Italy within the  frames  of the Project.
