Summary of Transactions on Financial Markets of RA by AMBERD Research Center

ASUE AMBERD Research Center has summarized the transactions on financial markets of RA in March.

According to the summary CB of RA has mainly used the instruments for reducing the liquidity during March month. In March like February month the weekly repo contracts have  been used among the instruments of increasing liquidity, which volume has been 85.2 bln AMD. During also March month The Central Bank of RA hasn’t  implemented a purchase of government bonds.

The exchange rate of USD has mainly demonstrated the reducing tendency during the month thus decreasing by 0.31% for the purchase and 0.58% for sales prices as compared to the beginning of the second part of the month. In case of EUR and RUR have mainly been demonstrating the growing tendency during the month in comparison with previous month.

There has also been registered activity on the repo and swap markets and interbank loan market. The volume of OTC repo transactions has increased 1.16times, repo with Eurobonds have increased 1.3times. There has been noticed different tendencies on interbank loans market. Interbank loans in AMD have sharply increased in 84.3% and loans in USD have increased in 52.6 %. The volume of USD swaps has increased in 8.3%  on the swap market. Despite the previous month swap transactions in EUR in march haven’t  been implemented.

A big activity has been registered both on primary and secondary government bonds markets and mainly tendencies to decreasing interests. As a result profitability of outstanding short-term bonds has been 6.14978% at the end of March/at the end of February it was ՝ 6.9078%/.Profitabilities of outstandingmid-term and long-term government bonds has been 11.8001% despite the result of the end of previous month-12.5237%.

The volume of transactions on corporate bonds market has increased nearly 4.2 times, profitabilities have been greatly decreased related to decreasing profitabilitieson financial markets. The volume of transactions on stock market has exceeded the indicator of previous month approximately in 98%.
