ASUE Succeed at Student Sport Games
The spring stage of the 20th Republican Sports Games for Students of RA Universities is coming to an end. Hovhannes Gabrielyan, the acting Head of the Chair of Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense, Secretary General of Student Sport Federation of Armenia, summed up the results registered by ASUE student-athletes, noting that our athletes were the most active participants and were involved in all tournaments.
“First, this year is a jubilee year for Armenian student sports: it’s the 25th anniversary of the Armenian Student Sport Federation, as well as the Republican sports games are conducted for the 20th time. Within the framework of the Republican Student Games in 2019, there are 18 championships (girls, boys), 15 sports competitions, about 2500 students from 30 universities of Armenia participate in the competition”; the Head of Chair stated.

We have individual and team success at the shooting championship. Shant Sargsyan, the 4th year student of the Department of Finance, won a gold medal, and ASUE Shooters Team (Shant Sargsyan, Tigran Mkoyan and Taron Margaryan the 2nd year students of Department of Finance) took the third place and won bronze medals.
Our athletes have won 3 medals in powerlifting. Edgar Badalyan, the 1st year student of the Department of Finance, won a gold medal in the 60kg weight class, Rudolf Vardanyan, the 1st year student of the same Department, won silver medal in the 60kg weight class Vanik Papakhchyan, the 2nd year student of the Department of Informatics and Statistics won silver medal in 52kg weight class.
Both girls’ and boys’ teams won bronze medals in the volleyball championship.
On May 16, futsal championship will be held and the spring stage the 20th Republican Sports Games will be summed up.
