The Open Lecture Dedicated to the Anniversary of the 44-day Artsakh War was on Patriotism

A year ago, on September 27, the Turkish-Azerbaijani alliance unleashed a large-scale war in Artsakh, which lasted 44 days and took the lives of thousands of patriotic and courageous children of the Armenian people, including our University students and graduates.

Today , Yuri Hovakanyan, Associate Professor at the Chair of Social Sciences, PhD in Philosophy, delivered an open lecture dedicated to Homeland and patriotism for the freshmen at the auditorium dedicated to the students, who fell like heroes in the 44-day Artsakh war, named after Artsakh hero Davit Grigoryan.

Yuri Hovakanyan spoke about high and spiritual values - homeland and patriotism, in the presence of powerful and strong immortal heroes, who fell for the Armenian people and Homeland. Lilit Dadayan, Adviser to the Rector, Vahe Mikayelyan, Dean of the Faculty of Finance, attended the open lecture.

The speaker greeted the freshmen entering the University, congratulated them on the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Armenia celebrated a week ago, and said; "You are a generation born in the years of independence, a happy generation, because happiness begins with freedom and independence. And I am sure that with your knowledge, your arms, your strong will, you will be able to build our long-standing independence, because we should always preserve independence. Our whole history is a history of the struggle for freedom and independence, which began with Hayk Nahapet and continues to this day".

The students listened attentively to the lecture, which conveyed knowledge, thoughtful impulses and gave everyone a reason to reflect.

Expressing his deep gratitude to the University Leadership for the beautiful opportunity, the speaker ended his speech with generalizations of the great military leader, philosopher Garegin Nzhdeh, with the conviction that the hour of retribution will come, and today's generation will build its victory.

The participants held a moment of silence  in memory of all heroes fell in the 44-day Artsakh war.
