Andranik Sargsyan, the 2nd year Master’s degree student of banking specialization, has been working on programming for several years and now works in one of the leading companies. It’s already second training on Machine Learning for Economists (the 1st one was conducted at the 1st half of the academic year, whose reaction encouraged Andranik).

Today, Lilit Gyulgyulyan, Head of Labor Market and Alumni Affairs Division of ASUE Foreign Relations Department, organizer and supporter of the initiative, opened the 1st seminar highlighting students’ active participation in extracurricular trainings, knowledge of machine learning for economists.

While being interviewed the young economist-programmer stated that the initiative aimed at introducing the general methods of machine learning to future economists.

“It is not a secret that today's programmers are more competitive in the labor market, besides, machine learning enables to solve problems quickly in economics as well. Taking all these into account, we organize these seminars that will give participants a general idea of machine learning”; Andranik said.

Here are the key topics to be presented at the seminars:

1. What is Machine Learning and its Applications,
2. Linear regression model,
3. Linear regression model (continued). Regularization, model selection,
4. Classification Models: KNN model. Decision trees,
