A Study Visit took place on the transfer of knowledge and technology topic to the Czech Republic, Brno, Masaryk University within the framework of the project "Transferring V4 expertise in knowledge/technology transfer"

A study visit to the Czech Republic, Brno, Masaryk University (https://www.muni.cz/) took place on April 4-7 within the frames of the project “Transferring V4 expertise in knowledge/technology transfer”. The purpose of the visit was to present to representatives of Armenian and Georgian research institutes and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) the European experience in the commercialization of research aimed at meeting the needs of SMEs and creating new results. The study visit was organized by the Armenian State University of Economics. Participants of the visit were the director of ASUE “Amberd” Research Center David Hakhverdyan, Deputy Head of Engineering at the “CANDLE” Synchrotron Research Institute Hamlet Isunts, the winner of the contest “Best cooperation plan/vision with RI/Academia”, SME Representative Armine Abrahamyan, Vice-Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Nino Okribelashvili, Head of Quality Assurance Department of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Irma Grdzelidze and Professor of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University Rusudan Sanadze.

During the study visit participants had meetings with the Director of Technology Transfer Center of Masaryk University Eva Janouskovcova, representatives of the International Relations and Quality Offices, visited the Central European Institute of Technology, RECETOX – research center at the Faculty of Science of the Masaryk University and South Moravian Innovation Center.

As a result of the study visit, representatives of research institutes gained knowledge on how to effectively organize the process of commercialization of knowledge/technology, got acquainted with the research and technology transfer centers of the partner university and the SME representative acquired knowledge on why and how to cooperate with research institutes and academic institutions, which will help to have a more competitive position in the market.

It should be mentioned that the aim of the project is to commercialize scientific research, promote culture of enterprise-research infrastructure cooperation in Armenia and Georgia, based on successful experience of Visegrad partner countries.

The project is co-financed by the Government of the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia by means of Visegrad Grants from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
