With the participation of the RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan yesterday the opening of the 16th Republican sport games took place and the winners in the chess championship were rewarded. Note that sports games started on March 14 with the chess championship. The tournament was finished yesterday; Minister of Education and Science rewarded the winners. At the team combat, ASEU chess team won the third prize and was awarded bronze medals.
In the individual competitions a student of the Regulation of Economy and International Economic Relations Department Eduard Mkrtchyan, who earned 7 out of 9 points, took the third place. Our girls took the 4th place in the team competition.
Chess trainer, lecturer of Physical Training, Emergency Situations and Civil Defense Chair Lyudmila Hovhannisyan noted that the games of boys and girls had been satisfactory.
"In a tense struggle ASEU boys’ team managed to take the third place, which is a good result with given strong opponents. I consider our participation in the championship of chess to be successful", - said Hovhannisyan, adding that chess trainings always take place after classes, which keeps our students in a good shape.
Minas Kapukchyan, Serob Ghazaryan, Artem Sukiasyan and Eduard Mkrtchyan were in the ASEU chess team, which took the 3rd place.
