The events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide started in ASEU: legendary fighters of "ASALA" visited the University (photo)

Today, on Student`s Council initiative, ASUE hosted the legendary fighters of  "ASALA", the commander of "Van" operation Vazgen Sisilyan and a member of the same operation Hakob Julfayan. 

Accompanied by the rector of ASUE Koryun Atoyan fighters visited the ASUE auditorium of students- fighters of freedom; met the history of the formation of the auditorium, left their signatures on the red carpet of memory. The students watched a little film about the activities of "ASALA" in the great hall. ASEU vice-Rectors, representatives of the faculties and many students attended the meeting.


Koryun Atoyan welcomed all those present, stressing that the ASUE Student Council was launching a series of events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Armenian Genocide and it was a great honor to host the fighters of Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia.

"We believe that the younger generation should be well aware of its history, the misfortunes of his people, as well as significant events and episodes in the history. The 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide is something more than just a day of remembrance of the victims to us, "- said Koryun Atoyan, expressing hope that the meeting would take place in a meaningful atmosphere and would give students an opportunity to become better acquainted with the activities of the legendary structure.

The chair of the Student Council Sergey Kharatyan also welcomed the guests, noting that the student council has set up a temporary committee that will organize the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. He also presented a symbolic gift the fighters.

Vazgen Sisilyan presented the activities of "ASALA", the history of its creation, goals and objectives of the group. He stressed the importance of measures aimed at the internationalization of the Armenian issue. "The internationalization of the Armenian issue was very important for us, and I think we have achieved that," - Vazgen Sisilyan briefly presented the purpose of their activities, his patriotic ideas generated great enthusiasm among the students of ASEU. He also answered the questions from the students. At the end of the fighter encouraged the students to believe in the struggle of the Armenian people, because it is true.
