Events Dedicated to the RA Independence Day: Deputy Minister was Hosted at ASUE
Today, events dedicated to the 26th anniversary of Independence Day of the Republic of Armenia were held at Armenian State University of Economics initiated by ASUE SC and Youth Foundation of Armenia.
Artak Zakaryan, First Deputy Minister of Defence of the Republic of Armenia, Karen Avagyan, Coordinator of Board of Trustees Youth Foundation of Armenia RA Member of Parliament, were hosted at ASUE. Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Rector, Professor, Vice Rectors Paruir Kalantaryan, Mikhail Karapetyan and Sevak Khachatryan met the guests and accompanied them during the events.
Deans, members of academic and administrative staff, great number of students attended the celebration.
The guests visited auditoriums named after ASUE student-fighters and memory of the April-four-day War victims. Another initiative was launched at this auditorium – Harutyun Badalyan, ASUE student, participant of April-four-day War, awardee of Order of “Battle Cross” 2nd degree, President of “ASUE Nzhdeh” military-patriotic club, signed on the RA Flag, then the authors of the initiative are going to rotate the Flag throughout the Republic, to take the signatures of the other participant-heroes of the Four-day War and to return the Flag to ASUE. At the University yard the guests got acquainted with the photos of the contest “Independence with My Eyes” initiated by SC, then witnessed the students flash-mob, after which they had the opportunity to shoot at ASUE shooting range.
The measure went on at ASUE Big Hall. Koryun Atoyan made a speech and thanked the Minister of Defence and the First Deputy for responding to our University event initiated on these busy days. The Rector referred to military-patriotic education issues, University and student activities.
“Visits to military units, organization of military-patriotic events, and involvement of armed forces in various events proclaimed that our University members are familiar with the “Nation-army” ideology. Our staff, Faculty and students willingly respond to all the issues and initiatives related to the Armenian Army, are sensitive to the events in the armed forces. April-four-day War is the bright example of it, which united both all Armenians and our University staff and students”; stated the Rector.
Hovhannes Harutyunyan, ASUE SC President, stated that strengthening University-Army, student-soldier relations are the key directions of their activity, then presented a video relating ASUE SC activities. The first students channel acted with new initiative – premiere of “Anvanakanch” program, which will touch ASUE student-soldiers. He first heroes were ASUE students (explorers) Vladimir Vardanyan, Never Petrosyan and Amiran Danielyan.
Artak Zakaryan, the First Deputy Minister, also made a speech, first announcing the winner’s name of the photo contest – Nelli Sharyan, then awarding her appealed to the auditorium, thanking for the impressive measures organized on the Independence Day and the implementation of consistent military-related programs.
Artak Zakaryan referred to the value of independence, the significance of the Army, underlining that no matter how much the army is a mirror of the society, we must not take a passive attitude to the existing problems, but should take responsibility for the Army to become the best and flawless part of the society.
The First Deputy Minister willingly answered the students’ questions.
The event was summed up by Koryun Atoyan, first congratulating Artak Zakaryan on moving to the Ministry of Defence after a long-term legislative work underlining his human qualities and values, then awarded him a souvenir on behalf of the University, wishing that faith and knowledge would accompanied our people and armed forces.
