«STARTUP-PROJECT» International Youth Competition kicked off at ASUE
On November 12-14, 2018 Armenian State University of Economics holds an International Youth Competition of Business Ideas and Projects "StartUp-Project" within the framework of the project "Higher Educational Institutions for Youth Entrepreneurship" (HEIFYE) of ERASMUS+ Program. This morning, the start-up meeting-workshop was held with the representatives from partner countries: Armenia, Latvia, Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. Partners from Belarusian Trade and Economics University of Consumer Cooperatives / BTEU (Belarus) took part in the meeting in a remote mode. The opening ceremony was attended by Vice Rector of Science and International relations Gagik Vardanyan, head of the chair of International Economic Relations, HEIFYE Project Coordinator at ASUE Diana Galoyan, professor of the same chair Zoya Tadevosyan, professorial staff of the chair, head of Foreign Relations Division Vard Ghukasyan and staff of the division, head of Educational Division Aghavni Hakobyan, Dean of Marketing and Business Organization Department Tatul Mkrtchyan.
Diana Galoyan welcomed the presents and noted that "StartUp-Project" International Competition was of great interest and it was a great opportunity for young people to realize their business ideas. The head of the Chair of International Economic Relations especially thanked Rector Koryun Atoyan, HEIFYE Project Coordinator Victoria Grosul and the Foreign Relations Division to assist in organizing the competition. Vice-rector Gagik Vardanyan welcomed the guests, spoke about the importance of the competition and noted that the project's mission was to provide a platform for self-expression of young people with fresh and creative ideas and helpful suggestions. Project Coordinator Victoria Grosul, in her turn, thanked ASUE and Diana Galoyan for the warm hospitality and cooperation. Afterwards, the guests had a meeting with ASUE Rector Koryun Atoyan, discussed the issues of international cooperation within the framework of the project. The head of the university gave certificates to the representatives of the partner countries for participation and organization of the youth competition.
The workshop will end today at 17:00. Today, reports and discussions will be held on the establishment of business centers within the frames of HEIFYE and organizational issues of the "StartUp-Project" competition.
Note, tomorrow at 10:00, the solemn opening of the youth competition will take place in ASUE hall. The aim of the competition is the development of entrepreneurial initiative and creative thinking, enhancing business modeling skills and business planning, as well as assessment of business ideas for realism.
