ASUE scientist participated in an international workshop in China

Vardan Atoyan, Doctor of Sciences (Political Science), Deputy Director-Senior Expert of ASUE AMBERD Research Center, participated in an international workshop on “Belt and Road” Humanitarian Exchange and Cultural Industry Cooperation in China from October 28 to November 10. ASUE scientist participated in the event by the personal invitation of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Vardan Atoyan told ASUE Media and Public Relations Division that the saturated and contentive event was also marked by achievements. He noted that more than two dozen representatives of state administration and academic sphere from 12 countries of the Eurasian region were invited to the event. The topic of the workshop was comprehensive and touched upon issues, challenges and opportunities related to the cooperation in different areas within the framework of the “Belt and Road” initiative.
Vardan Atoyan mentioned that preliminary agreement was reached to sign a memorandum of cooperation with the Armenian State University of Economics and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, one of China's most prestigious think tank. The memorandum will provide academic exchanges, joint scientific events and researches. Currently works on preparing the memorandum are underway. Taking into account that Chinese Academy of Social Sciences is ranked among the world's best think tanks not only in China, but also in the world's, this will be an unprecedented success of international cooperation for our University.
Note, that ASUE and AMBERD Research Center consistently develop partnership with China’s partner institutions. Particularly, ASUE signed a cooperation memorandum with Shaanxi Normal University in 2016. AMBERD Research Center in its turn signed a cooperation agreement with Central Asia Institute of Shaanxi Normal University in 2017. A China auditorium, with the support of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Armenia, was opened at our University on April 19, 2018.
